“All mainstream schools have a duty to use their best endeavours to provide support to children and young people with SEN.”

The Code of Practice (2014) states that teachers are responsible for the progress of all the pupils in their classes. It is essential that schools support them on this, particularly with regard to SEN pupils.

I can provide:-

  • Support to schools in deciding whether or not special educational provision is required. I offer thorough document analysis and assistance in writing statutory assessment paperwork.

  • Advice on EHC plans

  • Tools to help to teachers in providing quality-first teaching for SEN pupils.

  • Support in making appropriate provision for a child’s short-term needs.

  • Training sessions for teachers, learning support assistance and teaching assistants.

  • Training for multi-sensory teaching.

  • ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) in the mainstream.

  • Shaping and delivering continuous professional development (CPD) for teaching staff that is dynamic and has an impact on pupil progress.

  • Practical options for improving relationships between parents, schools and local communities.

Advice to schools

"Thank you for all your help with SEN. As an NQT I feel like I have already learnt so much from you and I really appreciate it."
